TESTING DAY AND SCORE REPORTING

  • WHEN TO ARRIVE: Plan to arrive at the testing room at least 15 minutes before your testing time. Allow plenty of time for parking and/or purchase of a parking permit if you have not purchased one ahead of time. Doors to the Testing Room close promptly at testing times.

  • WHAT TO BRING TO EACH TESTING APPOINTMENT: You must bring these things to every testing appointment. You will not be admitted without them:
    1) Official valid picture I.D., as described above.
    2) Receipt of payment for testing or your “Registration Confirmation” sheet.
  • DIRECTIONS & PARKING : You received special information about parking between 5-6 pm when you registered. Please refer to you Registration Confirmation Sheet. Allow ample time for parking! After 6 pm and on weekends, parking is free almost everywhere on campus. Be sure to read the parking signs carefully.
  • REMINDERS:

    • Always read the test directions before beginning. The time limit for each test is printed in the directions on the back of each book.

    • You are not allowed to write or mark on any test booklets. If you do so, you will be fined $30 and must pay this before you can take any further tests. Remember to do your figuring on the scratch paper provided for each exam.

    • Once the test timing begins, you may not leave in the middle of an exam for any reason. If you leave in the middle of a test, your answer sheet will be submitted as is. (So remember to use the restroom before you start testing.)

    • The GED Bulletin (which you are given at the time of registration) has sample questions, test-taking tips, and calculator guidelines in it. It will also answer your questions about the scoring process.

  • SCORE REPORTS

Answer sheets are sent to Oklahoma for scoring once a week. It usually takes 1-2 weeks before the scores are released. When you have completed the entire battery, we will mail a transcript of your scores to you and to any other score recipients you listed at the time of registration. Scores will not be available over the phone, but you are welcome to come into the office (with positive identification) to view your partial scores at any time. Each time you come in to test, you may also ask the test administrator to show you any scores that have been processed.

To pass the GED, you must have an average score of 450, a total score of 2250, and no score can be lower than 410.

When you have passed the GED Battery, the State Department of Education will also issue you a GED Certificate. It is usually processed just a short time after you receive your transcript from us. If you do not receive your GED Certificate by about 4 weeks after receiving your transcript, call Amy Heckman, the State GED Processor, at 517-373-1692.

Additional transcripts: After you receive your original transcript, if you need additional copies, call Amy Heckman, the State GED Processor, at 517-373-1692.
