As stated on the AAMC website, “the Medical College Admission Test ® (MCAT®) is a standardized, multiple-choice examination designed to assess your problem solving, critical thinking, and knowledge of natural, behavioral, and social science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine.”

A new version of the MCAT exam was launched in April 2015.  Nearly all U.S. medical schools require MCAT exam scores.

The official MCAT website has all of the information that you need, including how to register and prepare for the exam.  Please note that the MCAT exam is only offered on specific dates each year.
